The patent's own bibliographic record lists Tegic Communications, Inc. as the original assignee and records the patent's later reassignment to Nuance Communications, tracing an unbroken ownership line from this disambiguation patent to the company that also, decades later, sold Dragon dictation software. The filing describes a dictionary lookup keyed to frequency, not a model that predicts meaning or composes text; it resolves which known word was probably intended from an ambiguous keystroke sequence, nothing more.
